This policy explains data used by this independent TV remote application. The app does not require an app account. TV controls use your local network; advertising and external links may use the internet. This app is not affiliated with, endorsed or certified by Sony.
TV discovery, pairing and connection
The app discovers TV names, models or identifiers, IP addresses and, when available, TV MAC addresses to find, pair with and reconnect to your selected TV. Selected TV records and remote preferences are saved on your phone. A phone pairing identifier identifies the remote to the TV. A PIN is used to complete pairing. Saved authentication information may include a pre-shared key (PSK) or an authentication cookie.
A TV MAC address is used to identify the TV and is transmitted within your local network in Wake-on-LAN packets when you ask to turn on the TV. This transmission leaves the phone even though it stays within the local network. The app does not add TV MAC addresses, TV identifiers, pairing credentials or TV text to advertising requests. The developer does not operate a server that receives your TV records, pairing credentials or TV text.
Remote commands and TV text
Remote commands, pairing information and text pass between your phone and the selected TV over your local network. While the connected remote is visible, the app checks TV text-input status. When you open the keyboard, it can read text made available by the TV to help you edit it. Text you send is delivered to the TV. The app does not keep a text history and clears the current text when backgrounded. Some TV protocols use unencrypted HTTP, so use the app only on a trusted local network.
Storage, security and deletion
Saved pairing secrets are encrypted using a key protected by Android Keystore. TV records and pairing credentials are excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Local TV records remain until you remove the TV, choose Settings → Delete all saved TVs, clear app data or uninstall. Removing a TV or deleting all saved TVs also removes its stored credentials. Local deletion does not revoke the registered remote on the TV; remove the phone in your TV remote device settings to revoke that access. The operating system may retain its own records outside the app. No security measure can provide an absolute guarantee.
Pro purchases, customization and widgets
Google Play processes the one-time Pro purchase. The app does not receive your payment card details. It stores the signed purchase receipt locally, encrypted with a separate Android Keystore key and excluded from backup, to remember Pro access when offline. It checks ownership with Google Play when available. A cached receipt can verify Pro offline for up to 30 days after its last successful Google Play verification. The encrypted receipt remains on the phone until replaced, removed after an ownership check, or deleted by clearing app data or uninstalling. A valid one-time purchase does not expire and can be restored using the same Google Play account; refunded or revoked purchases cannot be restored. Clearing app data or reinstalling removes the local receipt and requires restoration.
Favorite buttons, layout preferences, macro names and steps, and widget TV selections are saved on your phone and excluded from backup. Widgets send TV commands when you tap a control. Macros run only while the app is in the foreground and stop when you switch TV or use another control. Removing a saved TV disables widgets bound to that TV. These settings are removed when you clear app data or uninstall. Pro disables both banner and full-screen advertising.
Advertising and Google services
The release app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). The SDK can collect and share IP addresses, app interactions, diagnostic information and device identifiers, including advertising ID and app set ID, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. IP addresses may be used to estimate approximate location. Google handles this data under its own policies and transmits SDK data using TLS. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Where required, the app displays a privacy consent message before requesting ads. You may change your choices through Settings → Ad privacy options when this entry is required for your region and consent state. You can also manage the advertising ID in Android settings. The app can show a banner. Occasional full-screen ads may appear after the TV confirms your explicit power-off request or after you finish editing saved TV details. These ads are not triggered by individual remote key presses, keyboard dismissal, opening or exiting the app. You can also request an ad with the explicit Support app (view ad) button. Ad eligibility does not depend on your rating, and viewing an ad does not provide a reward or unlock app functionality. Google’s retention and deletion policies apply to advertising data; deleting saved TVs does not delete data Google has already received.
Your choices
You can edit saved TV details, delete TV records and pairing credentials, and close the device picker to stop discovery. You can disable network remote access or revoke the registered phone in TV settings. External links and Google Play are handled by their respective services under their own privacy policies. Contact the publisher above for privacy questions about this app.
